Our Story:

PocApp Studios is a mobile-first game development Studio, based in Skövde, Sweden and focus on their passion for all things animals and gaming.

Initially formed by a group of students from the University of Skövde in 2014, PocApp Studios has become the leader in Idle cat RPG mobile titles based around their passion for animals and powered by the Swedish tradition of Fika.

Winners of the Skövde Academic Game Awards, one of Sweden’s most prestigious awards for young computer game developers in 2014, and headed up by CEO, Dilaram Massimova, Pocapp Studios started to develop their first title, Carpet Kitty. This title took shape after an invite to the Microsoft Game Camp in Skövde. Carpet Kitty was eventually released through the Publisher, Appsolute Games, in 2016.

In 2015 PocApp Studios also pushed their passion for all things feline, and alongside developing Carpet Kitty, released Sling a Kitty, an Angry Birds inspired game with some success.

It wasn’t until the summer of 2016 that PocApp really took off with a title that had been in development from earlier that year. Their working title of Garrison Cats soon became Castle Cats and was released initially via the Google Early Access platform with great success. Gaining immediate traction with fans from 13 years old and above, Castle Cats grew into a monster of a game and was finally released as a full title in June 2017.

Castle Cats is PocApp’s current jewel in the crown and has so far reached download figures of 5 million and counting across the Google Play Store, App Store and Amazon’s app store. With a strong fanbase and community following that is looked after daily, Castle Cats remains the number one rated Idle Cat RPG to date.

Expanding on the Castle Cats popularity, merchandise for this title, including clothing, plushies and pins can now be purchased via their online store at www.castlecatsstore.com. Furthermore, there are future plans to develop the Castle Cats universe into an animated series to be shown on TV or via the web.

After winning the Applovin indie dev prize in 2018, PocApp’s mission is to continue to build on the Castle Cats phenomenon in a personal and friendly environment that now employs more than 12 members of staff, including the studio pupper, Taki, who oversees day to day operations. PocApp Studio’s follow up to the successful Castle Cats title is now in development.
